Creativity, enthusiasm, drive and out-of-the-box thinking are characteristics future business leaders and entrepreneurs should increasingly incorporate into their daily lives to stand out from the crowd.
Barnaby does not only help business leaders or entrepreneurs to differentiate themselves by wearing Barnaby socks, but also decided to partner with a Master program to give business students the opportunity to gain insight in how the process of design-thinking and Product Design Management could look like.
Together with guest speakers, such as Nathaniel Fay, Managing Director of One Ski Digital Media Production and associate lecturer at The University of Sydney and Marian Schole, CEMS Alumnus and Founder of Anna King, Barnaby was invited to participate at a CEMS Master Skill Seminar.
“CEMS is a global alliance of academic and corporate institutions dedicated to educating and preparing and preparing future generations of global business leaders to enter into a multilingual, multicultural and interconnected business world through the CEMS Master’s in International Management”.
30 CEMS Sydney students took part in this workshop and were taught topics all around design principles and colour theory, creative processes and matching patterns and colours. Workshop sessions were presented by Creative Designer and Freelance Romain Nicoloso, Fashion Stylist Cheryl Tan and Strategic Design Consultant Irene van der Does de Willebois. Mounia Benrida, Collaboration Designer and Graphic Facilitator further supported the content with graphics. After about three hours of training, Barnaby gave them the opportunity to design their own sock, whilst applying the concepts and theories learned during the seminar.
More than a dozen sock designs were created by motivated Master Students and at the end, all workshop participants voted for the winning design.
We are happy to announce that this design will be produced in the following weeks and that the proceeds will go to the charity Building Tomorrow.
More information about the product will be published soon on our website.
The cooperation between Barnaby and the CEMS Master of Management program will definitely be a long lasting one and we can’t wait for our next workshop to happen.
The world is at your feet. Take the first step.
